NuTherapy hosts over 60 recovery, wellness, and skills groups, available in-person, over Zoom video conferencing, or both. These groups provide an opportunity to delve into self-discovery, connect with others who share similar experiences, and acquire practical skills to support your recovery.

Navigating Change with Resilience

Join our Coping Skills Recovery & Wellness Group to cultivate practical skills for managing stress. This group is designed to empower you with tools such as problem-solving, positive activities, managing reactions, fostering helpful thinking, and enhancing social interactions.

In a supportive environment, discover effective ways to cope with change and build resilience. 

This group provides a safe space for individuals with Bipolar Disorder, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and a person-centered approach. Here, members can feel understood and accepted as they learn to track cycles, identify triggers, manage stress, cope with challenging emotions, repair relationships, and regulate mood.

Living with Loss (Grief & Loss) Therapy Group

For those grappling with grief over various losses that may not be naturally resolving or are hindering daily functioning, this therapy group offers support. Learn about healthy grieving, gain support from others experiencing similar losses, and discover ways to move forward and overcome the challenges of being "stuck."

Lose the Blues & Anxiety Therapy Group

This therapy group is designed to address mild to moderate depression and anxiety using evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Positive Psychology, and Scheme Therapy. Participants will learn to change dysfunctional thinking, identify and overcome life traps, and leverage their unique character strengths for improved well-being.

DBT Therapy Group

This therapy group focuses on advanced coping skills for managing overwhelming emotions, avoiding destructive behaviors, learning to experience emotions without impulsive actions, increasing positive experiences, and effective interpersonal interactions. It provides valuable tools for individuals facing trauma-related challenges.

I Thought It Was Just Me: Shame and Trauma Therapy Group

Centered around the work of Brené Brown, this process group delves into building self-love, belonging, resiliency, and authenticity in recovery from PTSD. Topics include understanding shame, recognizing triggers, developing shame resilience, coping strategies, seeking help, and more.

Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) Co-ed Group

MRT is an evidence-based, systematic cognitive-behavioral therapy approach designed to enhance moral reasoning in individuals dealing with substance use, anger management, and domestic violence issues. Participants progress through 16 steps, completing homework and presenting their work in open-ended sessions.

PTSD Processing Therapy Group

Grounded in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), this evidence-based model is effective for treating Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Participants work on overcoming "stuck points" hindering recovery, challenging dysfunctional beliefs through reflection and evidence. This group is suitable for stable members prepared for trauma processing.

Seeking Safety – PTSD/Trauma

Ideal for those initiating trauma work, this group focuses on understanding PTSD symptoms and substance use patterns. Learn safe coping skills to break free from unhealthy patterns. Note: This is not a processing group; members do not share personal trauma histories until later in treatment.

“I Thought It Was Just Me”: Shame and Trauma (Exclusively for Sexual Assault Survivors; Referral Required) Therapy Group
This specialized process group caters exclusively to women and female-identifying individuals. Rooted in the work of Brené Brown, it concentrates on fostering self-love, belonging, resiliency, and authenticity throughout the recovery from PTSD. Key questions addressed in the group include: What is shame? Can you identify your shame triggers? How do you build shame resilience? What coping strategies work best for you? How can you reach out for help, and more? Prerequisite: Participation mandates a referral from an individual therapist or attendance in the Seeking Safety group to evaluate appropriateness for trauma processing.

Safety in Relationships (Exclusively for Survivors of Intimate Partner Sexual Violence; Referral Required) Therapy Group
Tailored for survivors or secondary survivors of domestic and/or sexual violence, this group enhances participants' knowledge and awareness of the cycle and warning signs of abuse. Topics covered include mindfulness, coping with anger, altering harmful thinking, increasing self-esteem, fostering accountability, trauma recovery, defeating shame, setting goals, and more. Referral is required for participation.

Seeking Safety – PTSD/Trauma Therapy Group
Geared towards individuals in the early stages of addressing trauma, this group facilitates a better understanding of symptoms related to Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and substance use. Embrace freedom from unhealthy patterns by acquiring safe coping skills. Note: This is not a processing group; members do not share personal trauma histories until later in treatment.

From Pieces to Peace – Healing from Sexual Assault for Adolescents (Ages 12-17) (Exclusively for Adolescent Sexual Assault Survivors; Referral Required) Therapy Group

This therapeutic group offers a secure space for adolescents to unite, realizing that they are not alone in their experiences of sexual violence. Specifically designed for adolescents aged 12 to 17, this group is focused on the present, providing psychoeducation on symptoms stemming from trauma. Cognitive-behavioral approaches are employed to aid individuals in reducing and managing these symptoms effectively.

The group incorporates teachings and activities from "The Sexual Trauma Workbook for Teen Girls: A Guide to Recovery from Sexual Assault and Abuse" by R.C. Lohmann & S. Raja, along with insights from "The PTSD Workbook for Teens" by L. Palmer.

Women’s Domestic Violence Therapy Group
This psycho-educational group delves into the dynamics of domestic violence, providing insights into alternative behaviors, fostering a shift in attitudes toward all forms of abuse, and preventing future violence. Open to both abusers and those who have been or are currently being abused, it is important to note that this is not a certified Domestic Violence course; individuals are advised to check with probation/court orders for legal considerations before participating.

Men’s Domestic Violence Recovery & Wellness Group
This group addresses the critical aspect of shifting blame away from the victim and holds offenders accountable for their abusive actions. Discussions focus on dissecting environmental factors contributing to power and control dynamics while actively working to change societal conditions supporting these tactics. (This group is exclusively for male-identifying individuals.)

Healthy Relationships Recovery & Wellness Group
Geared towards providing education on enhancing communication and establishing healthy boundaries, this group equips members with the tools to practice "clean communication," break negative emotional and behavioral patterns, manage anger within themselves and their partner(s), identify family and social systems, and set/maintain healthy boundaries. The skills acquired in this group are applicable to various relationships, including intimate, familial, and social connections.

Mind, Emotions & Communication Therapy Group
Tailored for individuals grappling with emotional pain and emotion dysregulation, this group integrates components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Participants develop the ability to observe problematic emotions, understand the factors underlying emotional disorders, and acquire essential skills for establishing a new relationship with emotions while enhancing communication skills.

 

Anger Management Recovery & Wellness Group
This group is designed to help individuals understand the triggers of anger and develop effective strategies for dealing with frustration, irritation, and anger before it escalates.

Beyond Anger Management Recovery & Wellness Group
Going beyond conventional anger management, this group offers valuable insights, strategies, and techniques to transform potentially destructive anger into a positive source of energy. The aim is to harness the power of anger in a way that enhances lives rather than detracts from them.

Creative Journaling & Writing in Recovery Recovery & Wellness Group
For those who love to write and seek a supportive space for self-expression in recovery, this group provides an opportunity to share written reflections and creative expressions.

Self-Esteem Recovery & Wellness Group
This group is dedicated to reshaping self-defeating thoughts and overcoming self-doubt. Participants learn to cultivate affirming thoughts, expand possibilities, and foster a positive self-image.

Si, Yo Puedo Therapy Group
Si, Yo Puedo (SYP) es un grupo psicoeducativo de 8 semanas diseñado para fomentar la autoestima y el empoderamiento específicamente para mujeres latinas (LW). El plan de estudios, culturalmente adaptado, se centra en la autoestima, promueve la comprensión de las relaciones románticas saludables y capacita a las LW para acceder a los recursos y sistemas de apoyo en las comunidades, incluida la salud de las mujeres latinas. ESTE GRUPO SE IMPARTE EN ESPAÑOL E INGLÉS POR UNA FACILITADORA BILINGÜE.

Si, Yo Puedo (SYP) is an 8-week psycho-educational group designed to nurture self-esteem and empowerment specifically for Latina Women (LW). The curriculum, culturally tailored, focuses on self-esteem, promotes an understanding of healthy romantic relationships, and empowers LW to access resources and support systems in communities, including Latina women’s health. THIS GROUP IS CONDUCTED BILINGUALLY IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH BY A BILINGUAL FACILITATOR.

Diabetes Self-Management Skills Group
Empowering members to collaborate and learn effective diabetes management techniques. This group covers symptom management, exercises, healthy eating practices, the appropriate use of diabetes medication, as well as guidance on monitoring glucose levels and troubleshooting when feeling unwell.

Eat Healthy, Be Active
Learn the art of making healthy choices and staying active. This program guides participants in planning affordable and nutritious meals, controlling portion sizes, and discovering enjoyable ways to stay active every day.

Pilates
Engage in Pilates to fortify your core muscles, leading to enhanced posture, balance, and range of motion.

Move Your Way Exercise Group
A six-week group class aligned with CDC exercise recommendations, fostering physical activity to enhance the health and well-being of individuals dealing with physical health conditions like diabetes, hypertension, obesity, or hyperlipidemia. Participants delve into goal-setting, self-monitoring, and problem-solving to overcome barriers, ultimately learning how to exercise independently.

Chronic Pain Management Therapy Group
Embrace an integrative and holistic approach to pain management that draws on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness techniques.

Men’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Tailored for men in recovery from substance use disorders, this program involves three hours of group sessions, three times per week, totaling 9 hours per week.

Women’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
This Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for women in recovery from substance use disorders, comprising three hours of treatment, three times per week, totaling 9 hours per week.

Grief & Recovery Recovery & Wellness Group
This group addresses feelings of grief and loss stemming from various scenarios, such as substance cessation, losing a loved one, job loss, or relationship endings. Participants explore ways to navigate challenging life circumstances.

New Member Orientation for Medication Assisted Treatment
New members joining NuTherapy’s Medication Assisted Treatment program must attend this orientation group to gain insights into the benefits and expectations of the program.

Relapse Prevention Recovery & Wellness Group
Equips individuals with essential skills to maintain recovery from addictions, exploring effective strategies for handling challenges associated with long-term sobriety and alternative behaviors to prevent drug and alcohol relapse.

Red Road to Wellbriety Recovery & Wellness Group
Integrating principles from Alcoholics Anonymous and traditional Native Culture, this group emphasizes respect, service to the people, and offers a path to healing through a combination of the 12 Steps and the Native Way.

Recovery Maintenance Recovery & Wellness Group
A forum to discuss daily struggles in recovery, addressing temptations and societal influences. Participants encourage one another to remain resilient against temptations, share coping strategies, uplift each other during setbacks, and celebrate successes.

Road to Recovery Recovery & Wellness Group
Participants learn to navigate challenges associated with long-term sobriety and explore healthy alternatives to drugs and alcohol.

S.M.A.R.T. Recovery & Wellness Group
Focuses on living independently of addictive behaviors, covering topics such as coping with urges, managing thoughts, and achieving a balanced recovery.

Substance (Ab)Use Education Recovery & Wellness Group
An educational group exploring the impact of drugs and substances on the brain and body. Topics encompass the history of drugs, social and legal influences, short and long-term effects on the body and brain, withdrawal, drug interactions, and more.

Parenting & Pathways Skills Group Recovery & Wellness Group
Utilizing the evidence-based model STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting), this group equips participants with valuable tools to enhance communication among family members and reduce conflict. For women involved with DCS, the group also covers effective communication, dependency rights, and expectations for navigating the system.

Art Expression
Discover the joy of expressing yourself through artistic exploration! This group offers a delightful journey into creative expression, emphasizing the benefits of conveying thoughts, emotions, and ideas without words. It provides a safe and supportive environment for actively cultivating self-awareness, mindfulness, and self-expression using diverse creative mediums.
